  • Write opinion pieces supplying a topic and clearly support a point of view and ideas with reasons and information.
  • Write stories by developing real or imagined experiences or events using effective writing techniques, descriptive details, and clear event sequences.

Fifth Grade

  • Collaborate with diverse partners on grade 5 topics and texts, building on others' ideas and expressing their own clearly.
  • Summarize a written text read aloud or information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally.
